Doomed!

Here's a great idea. A documentary on the history of the legendary unreleased FANTASTIC FOUR film from the early nineties. Come on! Unreleased or not, we've all seen it. It's so prominent out there that one would assume that it was actually released but it has not been.

This was the one with a good performance by Alex Hyde-White (with white streaks in his hair) as Reed Richards and Robert Culp's son Jason as Dr. Doom. The Mole man also appears. It's cheaply made because whoever heard of spending a lot of money on a Marvel Comics-based picture...then. It's also at least as entertaining as the mega-budgeted version of many years later...and it doesn't have as many plot holes!

DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's THE FANTASTIC FOUR is to be the name of the documentary and they're trying to fund it on Indie-a-Go-Go. With 14 days to go, odds seem a bit high on their getting anywhere close to their goal. But the thing with that site is that, unlike Kickstarter, the filmmakers DO get to keep what money is pledged even if they don't make their final goal!

So check it out and if you, like me, would love to see the documentary they're promoting, consider a contribution.

  1. I have to admit, I actually prefer this version to the one with Jessica Alba.

  2. Same here, actually..

I'm all for a restart with putting the entire story back into the cold war era.., as it was originally written.

A rockier Thing, no Alba.., the retro feel would do much better.
